Meet the Founders
We (Mitch & Nina) began our western adventure in the spring of 2016 when we relocated to Alberta from Prince Edward Island. We chose to settle in Cochrane for the 'home town feel' we grew up with on the east coast. We love the accessibility to the mountains and proximity to amenities in the city. We have a passion for getting outdoors, hiking, camping and exploring the Rockies. Natural Balance was born out of our own desire for adventure, unplugging and experiencing life to the fullest. We want to help people experience the freedom to choose their own adventures.
Nina became a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) in 2009. After a while, she began experiencing pain from repetitive movement and overworking. She decided to withdraw for a time from the career she loved to focus on recovering. She personally knows the frustration of chronic pain and the impact it has on our ability to function in the capacity we desire. Nina returned to school to complete her Diploma in Manual Osteopathy from the National Manual Osteopathic College in Red Deer, Alberta. Nina is clinic lead at Natural Balance.
Mitch works in Alberta as an Advanced Care Paramedic. He is currently working towards his Bachelor of Health Science from Thompson Rivers University. Born into a family of entrepreneurs, He has always wanted to start a business that reflects himself and his values. Mitchell had a minor back strain from diving and suffered from lower back discomfort for 6 months. After one visit to a Manual Osteopath, he left their clinic pain-free without any further need of treatment. Armed with this positive experience he hopes to facilitate personal freedom from suffering for others. Mitchell works behind the scenes at Natural Balance on business development.
